Wash Day!!

Hey loves,

So my last wash day was kinda different.

Here it goes:

[1] taking a page out of Naptural85's book, I divide my hair into four parts, applied a generous amount of coconut oil to my dry hair and followed up with my all time fav deep conditioner, ORS Curls unleashed no restrictions moisturising conditioner. Can I just quickly say that this stuff makes my hair so soft and moisturised, and also defines the little coils I have.

I left this on my hair for four hours. This is because I decided to go to the gym and clean in between. In order to get the best out of the process, I covered my hair with a plastic bag and topped that with a beanie. This way, I was able to retain heat while I worked out. I also decided to chill in the sauna and steam room for 20 mins, during which, I took off the plastic bag and beanie. This left my hair super moisturised and soft.

[2] after the four hour long deep condition, I stepped into the shower and finger detangled under the running water while washing off the conditioner. I then followed up with my creme of nature argan oil moisture & shine shampoo. I love this shampoo because it's sulfate free which means it cleanses without striping.

With the shampoo in my hair, I then detangled further using a wide tooth comb under the running water. Once I was done with all four sections, I poured cold water to help close my hair cuticle.

And yep, that was it. I originally decided to do a quick conditioner rinse after my shampoo session, but since my hair felt so soft after the shampoo, I decided to let it be.

[3] after the wash, I proceeded to lightly damp each section with a cotton shirt and apply my leave in conditioner (kinky curly knot today) to my wet hair. I followed that up with my grape seed oil so as to seal in the moisture from both the leave in and water.

[4] lastly, I braided my hair for the week. This is how I wear my hair all week, under my wig. With each braid section, I applied my final product, jane carter solution all natural nourish and shine.

Can I just say that the LOC method using these products works so well for my low porosity hair. So much so that I can go a whole week without re moisturising and sealing. Loves it!!!

Anyways guys, that was my wash experience this week. This was different cause I normally deep condition after my wash and pre poo using naptural85's trick, but with a cheap conditioner, and for less than an hour.

The pictures below is my attempt to show you my hair texture with products in. Here, I had a mixture of coconut oil and ORS.

 Love,
Dumsy.

  1. You have such a pretty curl pattern and your hair looks sooo soft! I have a sample of Kinky Curly floating around in my stash that I haven't used yet. The consistency seems a little runny. What are your thoughts on it? Would you repurchase?

    Thanks for sharing your #washdayexperience.

    1. Thanks a lot. I attribute the softness to the ORS. As for the kinky curly, runny is the opposite of this leave in. It is nice, but not amazing. To be honest. I won't be purchasing it after it runs out. It doesn't apply smoothly, however I do love the feeling of my hair once I add the oil and jane carter product. PS I I haven't tried it alone. Maybe I should give that a go and then judge further. 😊. Hope this helps.

  2. How do you like the ORS curls unleashed conditioner? I have been eyeing it for ages, but I just make myself fork out $25 for one tiny tub

    1. Hello Yvette. Thanks for your comment. The ORS curls unleashed is so far the best moisturizing conditioner I have used. I have tried many others, but I still find my self coming back to this. It is pricey for the amount but I can't seem to find no other moisture only(no protein) deep conditioner that works for me. ( still on the look out) but for now, me and my hair love it!! Hehehe
If you do have any other suggestion, please let me know.

  3. Would the ORS curls have the same effect on perm and dyed hair?

    1. Hello Hun, it should help for relaxed/dyed hair. I first used it on my relaxed/texlaxed hair and it worked wonders with defining my texlaxed hair and moisturizing it. You should give it a try! 😊

    1. Thanks Nerline, the extra heat did help indeed. But in the pictures here, I was just about to put it under the plastic cap and beanie. I had just applied the coconut oil and deep conditioner only.

  6. Hi! I am visiting from Saving Our Strands. I appreciate the details of your wash day. I need to get back to working out so I can take advantage of that extra heat when I deep condition. I love the LOC method as well!

    1. Hello Kristal, thanks for stopping by. Yes, working out really helps in every single way. Don't know why I ever went off track earlier this year. But hey, it doesn't matter why, it matters what you are doing now. 😊😊
